Anecdote 2023-01
“Well, I'm not an actor, so I'm just kind of there for presents. […] I've played the role of an assassin before too.”
What it documents

Regarding his cameos in Refn’s works (Too Old to Die Young and, in the episode, a discussed appearance in Copenhagen Cowboy), Kojima minimized his role, saying he is not an actor and is present mainly for presence. He added that he enjoyed seeing Nicolas’s workplace and observing how he works and directs, and noted that he has even played the role of an assassin. Refn said that on set Kojima endured takes for ten more hours, finishing at 2 a.m. while knowing he would get up at 6 for his game; Refn described him as very good, very consistent and very charismatic, and suggested they could make a great comedy together of the two of them sitting and staring at each other with voice‑over.

“I was also interested in seeing Nicolas' job site, so I really enjoyed that. […] I was curious about seeing how he works and how he directs, so it was a lot of fun.”
