Asked by GQ, Kojima named as his four favorite films 2001: A Space…

“He is my God, and the SAGA that he tells is my Bible”

Kojima called 2001: A Space Odyssey his all-time number-one favorite movie and said it was the only human-made work he would choose as perfect if he had to name one. For years he consciously avoided speaking publicly about the film because it was so immense and personal to him; he regarded living without knowing it as like closing the door to one’s own evolution and future.

“If Scorsese's doing it, I can't criticize Scorsese. He's the second god. The first is George Miller.”

“It resonated with me, given the loneliness that troubled me in my younger days, which is why it has a very special place in my heart. After I saw it I bought a jacket and a pair of boots to copy Robert De Niro. Needless to say, I did not get a mohawk.”

In his blog entry of July 3, 2007, in a fixed section titled «las películas que ha visto últimamente el director Kojima», Kojima lists three films: Transformers, directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg; Soy un cyborg, directed by Park Chan-wook; and La jungla 4.0, directed by Len Wiseman.
