Kojima’s message to young writers and actors, delivered as a 59-year-old man who says he knows this is true: being young and inexperienced is a strength — with age people get set in their ways; they may have more experience, but a fresh perspective is what allows new things to be made. He urged them not to be afraid and to put themselves out there, warning that if they hold back while young they will waste their youth. Now is their chance; if they fail, they fail — they are still young and it will be okay.
