I actually know Don Winslow, but apparently this is his last book.

Paraphrase 2022-12
“I actually know Don Winslow, but apparently this is his last book.”
What it documents

When presenting City on Fire, Kojima said he knows Don Winslow in person and that, apparently, this trilogy will be the last thing Winslow writes before hanging up the pen; he added that he really does not want him to do that. He described the book, simply, as The Godfather — a mafia story — with an atypical approach to character development, in the manner of Stephen King: it explains each character’s roots, how their parents’ parents came to America. He declined to spoil the ending but warned that a lot of people die, and that the next installment will likely change setting.

“I actually know Don Winslow, but apparently this is his last book. […] To put it simply, it's like The Godfather. […] It's kind of like Stephen King. He explains all about a character's roots, like how his parents' parents came to America and all that. […] I can't say the ending, but a lot of people die.”
