After the death of Vangelis in May 2022, Kojima said on his podcast that his dream was to work with him on a project someday, and that he had bought the synthesizers Vangelis used to try to make music but the sound was not the same. Half in jest he asked for Jon and Vangelis to come back from heaven, even if by spiritual possession, to make the soundtrack for his game, and at the close, when the co-host proposed an AI recreation of Vangelis’s work, he added that an "AI Vangelis" would also do.
