Asked in 2022 about AI-generated illustrations, Kojima said a future without AI is impossible at this point. He warned it is not like there will be one big AI to destroy, but multiple AIs across technologies, and that AI is not capable of creating new things because it uses old data to make something. He said humans ought to create something new by stepping out into unknown worlds, and that as AI accumulates more data it will keep biting at our heels and change our way of life into how long we can stay ahead of it.
