In 2022 Kojima predicted that eventually every person will have their own personal AI, and that communication —the hardest thing for an AI, alongside human relationships— will increasingly pass through those AIs. He said that when you go to the hospital you will not speak to the doctor directly: your AI and your doctor’s AI will communicate with each other, and in that exchange only pleasant things will be said, raising the question of what will happen to human communication. He foresaw AI entering education, love and family life (even preventing abuse or abandonment, although he admitted that leaving everything to AI would be another form of abandonment). Kojima stated he does not think humans can evolve further, and that coexistence will involve constructing a happy world in parallel with AI. His red line is a future in which wars stop being people versus people or nation versus nation and instead become AI versus AI; he said he would not like a world like that.
