“The movie wasn't great but the music sure was. I've collected all his soundtracks.”
What it documents

Kojima prides himself on Morricone completism: the maestro signed around 500 soundtracks spanning hits, B-movies, science fiction and occult films, and Kojima says he has collected them all. Examples of his devotion to the odd corners include the Italian-American animal thriller Orca — Kojima says the movie wasn’t great but the music was, and he owns the soundtrack — the Japanese film Dedicato al mare Egeo by Masuo Ikeda, whose song he calls beautiful, and John Carpenter’s The Thing — which Kojima really likes — for which Morricone delivered a score that is almost only a throbbing bass, which Kojima found brilliant.

“And well, Morricone worked on a lot of soundtracks, like around 500 or so. […] There's this Italian-American animal thriller film called Orca. The song from that is amazing too. I own the soundtrack. […] Oh, and the movie ''The Thing'' by John Carpenter, who I really like. Morricone worked on that too.”
