There needs to be trust between myself and the actors in order to see…

Paraphrase 2022-12
“There needs to be trust between myself and the actors in order to see it through, because it can get pretty tough.”
What it documents

Kojima explained the background of his casting criteria: performance capture is done in an empty room, without locations — basically like a green screen — and it runs for about three years, so it can become very tough. He said there needs to be trust between himself and the actors to see it through, so when choosing the cast the actors’ performances and abilities matter, but also whether they can build a trusting relationship. He added that Norman, despite this being his first capture, assumed a leadership role on set: Léa, who was quite nervous playing Fragile, always had his support and he said Norman helped create a great atmosphere on set and he is truly grateful to him.

“Leia, who plays Fragile, was also feeling quite nervous, but Norman was always supporting her. […] So in the process of casting, the important things to keep in mind are the actors' performances and abilities, but also whether or not we can have a trusting relationship.”
