Kojima said Troy Baker was already very famous in the industry, and especially in Japan, for games like Final Fantasy, and that he was extremely good‑looking — and still is. Kojima said he had always been aware that Baker was an international actor well known to Japanese audiences. When they were doing MGSV they needed to cast Ocelot, a fairly important role, and Kojima wanted to ask Baker for it. Kojima said he does not remember exactly how they first met and that he feels as if he has known him for ages — personally it seems as if he had worked with him even before MGSV. Since then Kojima said he has memories of running into Baker at shows and parties, that wherever you go in the industry Baker is always there, and that Baker is very tall so he stands out easily.
