Twitter

On seeing a newly installed mailbox in his neighborhood, Kojima pictured it as a red figure with its analog mouth open and a very hungry belly, standing there under rain and wind waiting for letters. He posted that image and the question of when he had last written or received a letter on Twitter and repeated the same message in the first essay of the My Lovable Memes series, calling the crossing of the digital tweet and the analog magazine a little piece of mischief.

“I've been away from Twitter as my mother passed away recently but I feel like start tweeting again.”

“Thank you, Lynch-sensei. You gave me courage.”

In November 2019, during the promotion of Death Stranding, Kojima received two Guinness World Records for being the game director with the most followers on both Twitter and Instagram.

“We follow each other on Twitter, and he seemed to have played my game too. He said, hope you enjoy my movie. So, if you can come on the show as a guest, that would be great.”

“People saying things like, I think Kojima has about three more games left in him. And I'm like, no, don't say that.”

“Originally, I was writing Hideo's Mysteries as a joke on Twitter.”

“I actually received a message from him on Twitter. […] I can't believe he wrote something this good his first time around.”

“It's fine to complain, like in your own living room, but don't do it where I can hear it. I wish people would stop directing those messages at me.”

“I can't say what project it is, although I'm sure you all can guess. But there was a song that fit perfectly in this one scene. So I asked him, hey, can I use this?”
