In Death Stranding, there is a beach where the time axis runs…

Paraphrase 2022-11
“In Death Stranding, there is a beach where the time axis runs differently from the rest of the world. I feel like I'm living there.”
What it documents

Kojima said he does not practise time management; he simply never spends a moment idle and is always doing something. He compared his state to the beach in Death Stranding where the time axis runs differently from the rest of the world, and said he feels like he lives there. He described himself as multitasking — always thinking about something else while doing something — and said he does not consider work–life balance, he is just living 100%. He even thinks in his sleep, usually goes to bed around 1:30 a.m., and with age wakes early from nightmares and begins reading. He said he has never slept until three in the afternoon on a weekend and even on family vacations absorbs information without stopping, acknowledging that people dislike those who are like that. He framed his drive by saying he does not want to die before he has learned everything about this world, although he thinks that is inevitable, and he finished by admitting he might not have answered the question and that doing nothing is probably good too.

“The answer is, I don't do any time management. […] I'm just living 100%. I even think in my sleep. […] I usually go to bed around 1.30 am and since I'm getting old, I wake up with nightmares. […] I don't want to die before I've learned everything about this world. Although I think that's inevitable.”
