«I’ve watched the first four episodes of Mike Flanagan’s “Carrie.” I’m really enjoying it. The original novel is one of Stephen King’s most famous works and has been adapted for the screen many times. It’s a classic that practically everyone knows (I personally love Brian De Palma’s 1976 version). Flanagan has taken this classic, brought it into the world of today’s high schools, and reconstructed it for a new generation. He carefully explores social media, the current education system, the struggles and crises facing young people today, as well as the backgrounds of each character. It might even be a little similar to “Euphoria.” What I find most interesting is how he portrays Carrie not as a terrifying monster or something to be feared, but as an innocent human being, treating her character with sincerity and compassion. Summer H. Howell is also very good. The original soundtrack is by THE NEWTON BROTHERS. I can’t wait to see what happens next.»
