Hablando de escaneos de invitados, Kojima confirmó su propio cameo en Death Stranding: «yo me escaneé la última vez [para DS1] — esta vez no. En el último juego, el que salía del alquitrán era yo». Y bromeó con la puesta en escena del cameo de Rajamouli: «quizá quede bien poner al señor Rajamouli encima de eso… aunque igual es demasiado obvio. Le falta giro».
