“Yeah, well, Kayumi-san is like a god to me.”
Kojima recounted the technical battle of recording Policenauts: the voice actors were a bit tough on him again, for example Kayumi‑san. He added that one cannot blame Kayumi‑san, who is like a god to him, and that Kayumi‑san played a character called Tokugawa. The problem was that at the time the files had to be read one line at a time, so when there was a conversation between Tokugawa, Jonathan and Karen they had to make sure the actors’ lines did not overlap. Kojima said he explained this many times, and then Kayumi‑san proposed that they all talk over each other, and everyone went along. Kikuko intervened again: Kojima could not say “no, that’s wrong,” but he interjected “but guys…”, and as expected from Kikuko, Karen Hojo protected him once more.
“The voice actors were a bit tough on me again, like Lemasa, Kayumi-san. […] He played a character called Tokugawa. At the time, you had to read the files one line at a time, so when there was a conversation between Tokugawa, Jonathan, and Karen, we had to make sure your guys' speaking didn't overlap. I explained it so many times. And Kayumi-san was like, let's all talk over each other. […] but Kikuko, you intervened.”
