“And I had thought about including Octopus Lou instead, but everyone was like, uh, that might be tough. I thought it would be okay to use Octopus Lou anyway, but I ended up pulling back.”
Kojima told the story of Octopus Lou, the pet octopus of Death Stranding 2: he wanted it to be a little eerie and he is the only one who calls it Octopus Lou (its real name is different). He confessed that in the teaser for DS2, where Fragile and then that red guy with the guitar appear, he had thought about using Octopus Lou instead, but everyone said that would be difficult; he thought it would be okay but ultimately pulled back. He still wanted to show it, so he revealed it in a tweet after the trailer announcement. There was a gashapon of the BB pod, and he had considered making an octopus version.
