In the conversation, Kojima reported that Oshii said he was probably the worst person in the world to play Death Stranding because he does not want to connect with people; Oshii played entirely offline, about 250 hours by his account, rejecting missions and following the story on YouTube, repeatedly raiding mule trucks to build his business and resting by running through mountains and along the coast, and he found the reward weak (a shower and energy drinks). Kojima asked him to play the story, told listeners he could not recommend Oshii’s method, and when the host asked what he felt about Oshii having played so much of his games Kojima said he felt very honored.
