“But in my original concept, there was no singing involved. I knew that Troy could sing, and he even sang to his fans around the world during the pandemic. I listened to that many times.”
A February 2023 production secret of Death Stranding 2 that Kojima half-revealed: he said he did not know how much he could share and that he still could not say who it was. He explained that in his original concept there was no singing, that he knew Troy could sing — noting Troy had sung for his fans worldwide during the pandemic and Kojima had listened many times — and that hearing those recordings made him think it would be cool for Troy to sing. He added this was possible because Troy was already cast, and that he could not say much about DS2 but that songs will play an important role.
