Kojima closed the episode by attempting to recruit Kikuko Inoue in person, saying he was thinking she should appear in the game as Kikuko and that they should scan her — scan and mocap, not voice recording. When she hesitated he raised the offer toward a proper acting part, saying her name in the game would be Seventeen and there would be an oi oi button that gives players a like if pressed with the right timing. When she asked for something comedic, his backup plan was a Mambo fish, explicitly noting it did not have to be for Death Stranding 2. He added that he liked her too much and still had roles he had not offered her and proposed doing something different. In the epilogue, no longer with her present, he said the segment could surpass Mr. Oshii’s episode and that he had to scan her immediately.
“But anyways, I was thinking, Kikuko, you should be in the game as Kikuko. Let's get you scanned. […] We can scan you and do some mocap. So not voice recording. […] How about a legitimate role?
