“It actually wasn't Amelie. It was Mama and Lakne, the twins, played by Margaret Qualley.”
Kojima said that for Death Stranding the role he first offered was not Amelie but Mama and Lockne, the twins played by Margaret Qualley. In the early stages he asked the interviewee and Ho-chan to play the twins as mother and daughter, but it was so early that he did not even have a script yet and they could not accept then. Later, when writing the script and filling in details, Amelie became the most important character so he asked the interviewee to be her. Kojima added that he has known Ho-chan since she was very little and that she used to come to game shows, and he hinted they would like to set up some trick, maybe having the interviewee’s sister appear.
