“But I wanted to see a Kikuko version of Lindsay. So I asked you to play the two roles of Amelie and Brigitte.”
Kojima says Kikuko Inoue was cast as Amelie/Bridget in the Japanese version of Death Stranding, recorded in 2018. He explains that after he went independent in 2015 many people were worried about him and wrote to him, for which he was grateful, and that he wanted Kikuko to be in the game and also wanted Akio Ōtsuka. He says he is a fan of Lindsay Wagner, and that when you think of the Bionic Woman you think of Reiko Tajima as the Japanese voice, but he wanted to see a Kikuko-version of Lindsay, so he asked her to play both Amelie and Brigitte, adding that he also simply wanted to see her.
“Many people were worried about me and reached out to me, so I was really thankful for that. […] But you know, I wanted you to be in it, and I wanted Akio Otsuka-san too. And so in 2018, we recorded Death Stranding. […] And when you think of the Bionic Woman, you think of the voice actor Reiko Tajima for the Japanese version. […] Well, I also just wanted to see you.”
