Kojima described his affinity with Woodkid as almost paranormal: Woodkid later gave him the LP and when Kojima saw the album cover he noticed the black tar in Goliath — and the Goliath music video — were very similar to Death Stranding, which surprised him. He thought Woodkid was his doppelgänger despite being 20 years apart in age. Later, when he saw the music video for I Love You he found many more similarities with Death Stranding, has had numerous occasions of getting goosebumps, and is convinced that originally they are the same person.
