Kojima fechó el origen de una de sus costumbres más conocidas: «la cosa es que es difícil llegar a conocer a la gente solo dentro del estudio. Yo quiero hablar con las personas sobre sus personajes y demás. Por eso empecé a ir a cenar con los miembros del reparto». Fue en la época de Policenauts (1994): «este estilo de trabajo mío empezó aquí» — aunque con la propia Kikuko apenas funcionó entonces: «estabas siempre ocupadísima, y no éramos tan cercanos como ahora».
